The Role
The Director/Associate Director of Ad Sales will be responsible for executing Howcast's ad sales strategy with the goal of driving significant revenue and establishing leadership within the how-to/instructional category. You will need to identify, develop, pitch, and execute both cutting-edge initiatives and traditional media ad sales.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement sales strategies designed to open new markets, establish category leadership, and rapidly expand Howcasts advertising business
- Create, aggressively pitch, and close new business and exceed sales targets by using a strong solution-based sales approach
- Prepare high-quality responses to all RFPs
- Ensure that our clients receive the highest level of sales and operational customer service
- Formulate and implement innovative sponsorship packages that maximize revenue opportunities with brands and agencies to rapidly expand the business
- Serve as point of contact for all campaign-related inquiries on designated campaigns with clients
- Monitor campaign delivery, address delivery issues, and provide optimization plans as necessary
- Focus on client retention, growth, renewal, and satisfaction
- Communicate regularly with product, ad operations, and business development teams to define and drive business goals
- Maintain client expectations and meet key deadlines
Desirable Experience
- Online ad sales experience (video ad sales a big plus)
- Rich media sales experience
- TV or print sales experience
- Strong understanding of online media and advertising industries
- Ability to drive customer satisfaction and revenue through direct sales initiatives
- A strong background working with clients face to face in an outside sales role
Requirements
- BA or BS degree as well as outstanding academic performance from a top-tier school
- Minimum of 3-6 years in online/interactive media sales
- Demonstrated success managing a minimum of $1 million in revenues
- Self-starter mentality
- Strong contacts with interactive agencies/ad buyers and directly with a wide range of advertisers
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of the Internet media space, search engines, online advertising players, and related business models
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills conducive to team development as well as excellent creative written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with ad operations systems
