EFP Workshop: West Bank
Howcast's Emerging Filmmakers Program launched its first pilot workshop program in the West Bank. Designed to introduce Palestinian youth to real-world professional filmmaking techniques, the EFPWorkshops have provided Palestinian youth with both marketable and creative skills. The students of these workshops have worked to make how-to videos that have both regional and universal significance.
The Emerging Filmmakers Program and its workshops offer new filmmakers the opportunity to gain experience, exposure, and income by creating short, how-to videos. Howcast provides the amateur filmmakers with vetted scripts, pre-recorded voice-overs, a graphics package, and royalty-free music tracks so that these students can shoot and edit their own how-to videos. Finished videos are distributed on Howcast.com as well as Howcast's extensive distribution network, across the web (on AOL, YouTube, Yahoo!, Metacafe, Daily Motion, Break and others) and beyond (to TiVo, Vcast, iTunes, and others). As young filmmakers make and launch video after video, gain the production, creative, and entrepreneurial chops to establish themselves in the industry.
